A box of dreams..

Do you know this game on TV..? I think its called Deal..? There is one player who is trying to find the box with the biggest amount of money in it… He/she has one box, with unknown content, and he/she can exchange that box with money, or with another box... The risk is great, cause you don’t know what is actually in your box… and sometimes the amount of money you get is big enough to tempt you to give up your box.. (after all, you have no idea what is in it, it could be something great, or it could be something as insignificant as 50 cent..).

Life is like that sometimes. You have your box that is full of dreams… And on your way, you get offered money in exchange for that box… or you have the option of another box…that contains stability, security, love, friendships… all these can be exchanged with your box of dreams…

Im not judging the people who negotiate their box. Sometimes it is really worth it! Sometimes there is really not much in your box, so you better take that offer and get out of the game satisfied… I mean, you will never know what you could have won by keeping the box, but it doesn’t really matter sometimes, as long as you feel like you have made the right choice… As long as you are happy!
But, the question will somehow haunt you… What if you are giving up something really great in exchange of something that is just good? How can you know how far you can go, unless you start going?

Then again, I guess there always comes a point, when you just have to let go of the darn box… Because many would argue that a box of dreams is not the most important thing in life. It probably won’t put bread on the table. A pessimist would tell you that dreams and real life are opposites.

Yet, history has some examples of some brave, courageous dreamers, who managed to hold on to their box, and their dreams eventually became reality. If that is enough to push you further, then go for it. It is your game after all.
